London- Speaking on Tuesday at the Starmus Festival, a science-slash-musical gathering held in Trondheim, Norway, the British scientist Stephen Hawking said humans should leave earth within 30 years.

Hawking said: “30 years’ time is sufficient to build a lunar base, and 50 years to build a base on Mars.”

He also called to send samples of plants, animals, and fungus there. The British scientist explained: “We are running out of space, and natural resources are diminishing as well. I am convinced that humans need to leave Earth.”

Hawking asserted that migration will prevent the earth from overpopulation and global warming-related issues.

He added that “disasters that can happen because of asteroids’ fall, global warming, or overpopulation cannot be avoided”.

The scientist compared the discovery of space with the discovery of America by Columbus, and saw that this is the natural pace of the human race’s development.

This is not the first time Hawking calls to discover and control other planets.

After the release of his book “A Brief History of Time” in April 1988, he has got an outstanding fa,e. His book was translated to many languages, and sold to 10 million copies.
