SRMG to Provide Media Support for the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation

Riyadh, Asharq Al-Awsat- In a bid to educate the Saudi public about the importance organ donations the Saudi Research & Marketing Group (SRMG) and the Saudi Center for Organ Transplantation (SCOT) singed an agreement yesterday in an endeavor to provide the center with media and promotional support for its activities.

SRMG’s publications will extend moral and media support to help the center carry out its mission and achieve its objectives. Prince Faisal Bin Salman, chairman of SRMG’s board of directors, and Dr. Faisal Shaheen, director general of the center, signed a memorandum of understanding at the SRMG headquarters in Riyadh.

“The agreement emphasized the desire of the two parties to forge effective cooperation for promoting public awareness on the importance of donating organs,” the statement said.

Under the accord, SRMG will contribute SR1.5 million by printing free of charge a number of monthly and annual publications and brochures for the center.

SRMG will also donate advertising space worth SR1 million in the group’s publications to promote the center and its projects.

The MOU reaffirms the group’s support for social and humanitarian activities. “The support offered by the group to the center comes within the framework of SRMG’s integrated social and philanthropic mission seeking to back humanitarian activities within and outside the Kingdom,” Prince Faisal said. He commended SCOT’s organ transplant program.

The SRMG chief emphasized the significance of supporting the center to boost its health care services. Shaheen thanked the group for its support. “The MOU will strengthen the existing cooperation between SRMG and our center,” he said. “SRMG, which participates in social activities and supports charitable institutions, is a role model for national media organizations.”
