Riyadh- Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and US President Donald Trump toured Saturday the Saudi Contemporary Art Exhibition.

The exhibition displays samples of the works of Saudi artists in the Bridges Program and their participation in exhibitions in the United States in order to promote coexistence among different cultures and highlight Saudi artistic skills.

The program is an initiative from King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture.

The Exhibition aims at highlighting Saudi Arabia’s contemporary art across several generations, with a particular focus on young artists.

It also aims at showcasing the Kingdom’s rich culture through the creative craftworks of a number of contemporary artists and encouraging dialogue between Saudi and American cultures through visual artworks demonstrating life experiences of artists.

On display at the three-day exhibition, there are works of 17 Saudis, who have already shown their work in the US through cultural centers and major museums.

King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture is one-of-a-kind institution that brings together multiple offerings under one roof. From arts and culture to science and innovation, this bold initiative by Saudi Aramco promises a continuous journey of enrichment designed to energize the next knowledge economy of Saudi Arabia.

The center aims to make a positive and tangible impact on the cultural scene by focusing on building local talents in the knowledge and creative industries.

King Abdulaziz Center has launched earlier in cooperation with “Art Dubai” a competition among Saudi artists to select a unique work that will be presented at the largest annual art event in the Middle East at the Art Dubai 2018 Exhibition as it will be part of the Center’s art collections.

This collaboration aims at supporting national talent in the areas of knowledge, creativity and innovation and boosting cooperation among creativity-embracing environments in the region.
