Rabat- Princess Lalla Salma, spouse of King Mohammad VI, inaugurated the “Face à Picasso” exhibition at the Mohammed VI Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMVI) in Rabat.

The exhibition, which is a collaborative effort between the National Museum Foundation of Morocco (FNMM) and the National Museum Picasso-Paris, features more than 100 masterpieces (paintings, sculptures, pictures, and printings) collected from the collections found at the National Museum Picasso-Paris.

Princess Lalla Salma wandered in the exhibition accompanied by Mehdi Qotbi, chairman of the National Foundation of Museums before taking a souvenir photo on the occasion.

Her Highness was handed a catalog with the works exhibited from the curators of the exhibition, Mouna Mekouar and Androula Michael. She also received a commemorative stamp of the exhibition from, Hind El Ayoubi, FNM assistant curator, and Fatima Zahra Lakrissa, FNM program manager.

The exhibition comprises 11 sections, each reflecting a part of Picasso’s geniality in a chronological journey of masterpieces from all kinds of art.

From Picasso’s early years to his last portraits, the exhibition is considered an occasion to think about the rich concept of the “sample” which was discovered and readopted by Picasso many times during his life. The exhibition combines drawing, sculpting, and engraving and gives an inclusive vision on Picasso’s career and journey.
