London- The British schools in the Middle East are one of the biggest compounds for teaching the British curriculum. The group includes 97 schools in over 13 countries where there are 95,000 students and 6, 900 teachers.

British nursery, elementary and secondary schools are found in most of the Arab countries such as the following in the UAE: Ajman Academy, Ajyal International School, Al Ain International School, Al Mamoura Academy, Al Muna Primary School, Al Rabeeh School, Al Shohub School, Al Yasmina Primary School, Belvedere British School and Brighton College Abu Dhabi.

British Curricula in Riyadh

There is the British International School in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which has around 1,370 students of different levels. This school, established in 1979, is non-profitable and has merged with the Saudi Arabian International School in 1981.

Most of the students originally hold the British nationality but it also has students of 52 other nationalities. For those who don’t have English as their mother tongue, they are expected to reach a specific level before being able to enroll in the classes taught in English.

The British International School in Riyadh provides advanced levels of education in which its graduates resume their studies in international universities in Britain and the U.K. The school is in general in good terms with the Saudi community.

The British Council

The British Schools Foundation in the Middle East and the British Council help organize official supervision over schools.

There are education and cultural institutions known as the British Council whose purpose is to boost cooperation between Britain and the world. The council operates in more than 100 countries around the world.

The council commenced its activity in 1934 and contributes to spreading the English language, arts and culture.
