Beirut – The “Alwan Beirut” movie which is set to be displayed on July 3-5 as part of the second edition of “Beirut cultural festivals and the Municipality of Beirut” at the horse racing track will be the biggest animated Lebanese movie till this date.

Children will enjoy watching this show on the biggest three dimensional screen in the world, and will learn about the different Lebanese regions, accents, traditions, and the nature of their rich country.

This show which was created and directed by the owner of ‘Adaimy Studios’, Emile Adaimy, is sought to entertain and educate children and teenagers from all ages. It is a 75-minute educational tour, from which the young viewers will discover their country’s wonders with a simple yet creative way that suits their age with its comic, entertaining, and emotional spirit.

The movie’s script was written by Adaimy and Lora Khabbaz, and includes 10 songs written by Khabbaz and composed by Karim Khnaiser.

Adaimy explained that the movie is more like a musical play with animations. The main character is “Najma” (a star) which was selected to represent the clock set in the center of Beirut. In the movie, the star is imprisoned in the clock, surrounded by pollution and black fog that’s dominating the city.

As she chants a sad song, a kind jar made of glass passes by coincidence, he asks about her sadness and promises to help her. The star says her problem is very complicated and could only be solved by bringing colors from all the Lebanese regions to Beirut so she can regain her true colors.

However, the jar decides to take the challenge.

On his way, the jar meets with a historical character that symbolizes the region he reaches and which is inspired by the region’s costumes and traditions. Each character helps the jar in accomplishing the mission, aiming to emphasize the importance of cooperation.

Adaimy pointed out that working on the scenario and the characters took six months. He hailed the efforts of all the crew members that participated in this work including Loay Daoust, Michel Dani, Riyadh Hanna Daher, Maria Ashkar, Salim Zwein, Mark Murad, Rami Tannous, Mahmoud Abu Omar, and Sara Khoury.
