Rome, London- A man in Italy was accused of attempting to kill his girlfriend after he assaulted her over an argument on the ingredients used in preparing home-made fettuccine, Italian media reported.

Quoting a police statement, the “ANSA” and “Adnkronos” local news agencies reported that the man, 50, tried to choke his Romanian girlfriend, and hit her repeatedly, after they disagreed over the quantity of eggs that should be added to prepare the dish.

The woman, 44, who lives with the attacker in the eastern suburbs of Rome, was found soaking in blood in the bathroom.

Sources told the agencies that she was in serious but not life-threatening condition.
