London – Alain Delon, 81, decided to conclude his career and to shoot his final movie with Juliette Binoche. Delon’s announcement came during the International Film Festival of Liege which honored him in Belgium.
Delon took a ten-year break from cinema. The final character he played was Julius Caesar in the Comedy «Asterix at the Olympic games.» The French actor had a brilliant career which declined after 40 years of cinema starring and a record of 80 movies, in which he cooperated with veteran directors. He also played many roles in TV and theatre.
The handsome actor’s fame went behind France – he worked with stars from Hollywood in movies including the “Yellow Rolls-Royce” with Shirley MacLaine. He also played distinctive roles with Claudia Cardinale and the Austrian Romy Schneider.
Delon didn’t speak much about his upcoming movie but said it features the love story of a man of his age and a women in her fifth decade who he meets randomly. The female character was supposed to be played by the actress Sophie Marceau, who didn’t seem favorable for the character.
Instead, she was replaced by Binoche who – according to Delon- is a wonderful actress and he would like to work with her. While the 81-years-old actor was taking a long break from the big screen, Binoche was promoting a career full of success and accomplishments.
Tens of books talked about Delon and presented him as a French idol. The last book on the renowned actor was written by Stéphane Guibourgé “Grandir avec Alain Delon” (Aging with Alain Delon), which covered all the actor’s works and roles. The book also talked about the nostalgia the actor felt for his pre-celebrity life and the years he spent in the national service in France’s colonies in the Chinese India.
Delon got married several times; his first wife was Nathalie Delon and they had their son Antony. Then he got married to model Rosalie van Breemen and had a boy, Alain Fabien and a girl, Anouchka.
The star also got engaged in several relationships with many celebrities including Marilyn Monroe.
