London, Asharq Al Awsat – Infamous Saudi television presenter Rania Al Baz has moved to Lebanon, and is currently in negotiations with “Future Television”, sources close to al Baz told Asharq Al Awsat.

Al-Baz, 30, who is in discussions with the popular Lebanese TV Channel to host a media program on Gulf Affairs, has already found a home and has enrolled her children in local schools.

Future Television’s managing director, Tariq Ayntraizi told Asharq Al-Awsat that “there are talks at the moment” although he says “nothing has be finalized yet”.

However, if the agreement were to be reached Al Baz will be the first Saudi female presenter on Lebanese television.

Rania became an international symbol of domestic violence after she permitted newspapers to print images of injuries she had sustained from her husband, Muhammad Bakar Yunus Al-Fallatta. The photos shocked the international community and ignited a public debate within Saudi Arabia over the issue of domestic violence.

Al Baz appeared in numerous interviews and Television programs, including Oprah Winfrey Show, and last October released her autobiography “Disfigured”.
