Info2cell.com, the wireless application service provider, has introduced extended SMS messaging with no limit on the number of characters per message. This development removes the existing limitation of 160 characters in English and 69 characters in Arabic per SMS alert message.

The new technological development will allow Info2cell.com to send unlimited information through premium alert SMS for the benefit of subscribers of services like breaking news, entertainment and sports updates as well as horoscopes and jokes.

“Continuing our pioneering role in adding value to mobile services, Info2cell.com has removed a major obstacle faced by mobile phone users pertaining to the length of SMS messages,” said Bashar Dahabra, founder and CEO of Info2cell.com. “The end-user can thus expect upgraded services with more information, because we can use additional characters to deliver more content to the subscriber.”

“The mobile phone market in the Middle East and North Africa region has been expanding at a rapid pace over the past few years. Info2cell.com has been trying to be a step ahead as mobile phone users expectations kept rising. The extended messaging has already been successfully tested with a number of mobile operators,” added Dahabra. “We anticipate a strong demand for these services for our 200,000 regional subscribers.”

As a solution provider in the field of mobile services, Info2cell.com has emerged as a leading player in delivering customized to content to mobile phones through its 18 mobile operators across the GCC and Levant region, such as Etisalat, Fastlink, MTC Kuwait, Batelco, Oman Mobile, Qtel, Mobinil, Spacetel Yemen, Spacetel Syria and Jawal Palestine, among others.

In order to provide value-added services, Info2cell.com has invested over US$ 2.5 million in developing an advanced adaptable Wireless Application Service Provider (WASP) platform at Dubai Internet City. Info2cell.com has successfully launched mobile portals in UAE, Kuwait, Oman, Egypt and Bahrain, and is currently holding talks with several other countries for introducing similar services.

“With the mobile phone becoming a versatile and sophisticated instrument, Info2cell.com believes that the road to success lies in anticipating the needs of subscribers,” concluded Dahabra. “Backed by our parent company Acotel, and service providers in the region, Info2cell.com will continue to introduce advanced services for mobile phone users, thereby enhancing their experience, raising productivity and meeting their expectations for advanced alert services and mobile applications.”
