London- At the Frankfurt Motor Show this week, BMW Group unveiled a new design for the “Mini electric vehicle”, whose production will begin in 2019.

This new design will be followed by the introduction of the first “Mini Hybrid” with external charging this year.
BMW CEO Harald Krüger believes that the Mini is the best choice for the switch to electric power, as it is the original compact vehicle for driving within cities.

The company has already introduced the “Mini E” model, in an experience that saw the testing of 600 electric Mini cars. The company has benefited from this testing in the development of the electric “A3” model.

The “virtual Mini” features many new applicable ideas, including the use of carbon mixtures in many parts of the body, some of which were manufactured in 3D printing.

The company asserts that it plans to manufacture this virtual category in order to dedicate it to those who use mini cars in cities.
