Riyadh, Asharq Al-Awsat—The Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG) has agreed to act as a senior partner to the Riyadh Economic Forum, organized by the Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The forum’s sixth session will run from December 9 to 11 under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, President of the Higher Economic Council, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.

The forum will be attended by a large number of government officials, businessmen and businesswomen, as well as a group of experts, specialists and other relevant parties.

Prince Turki bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Saudi Research and Marketing Group (SRMG) said: “It is a great pleasure for the group to be among the most important sponsors of the Riyadh Economic Forum, because of the importance attached to this forum, its prestigious status in science and research in the Kingdom, and the active role it plays in the service of national economy in supporting and improving its future performance. The group has been a partner in the forum since its launch and will continue in this partnership in the future, God willing.”

Prince Turki bin Salman praised the performance of the forum in its previous sessions and expressed hope that the sixth session would find scientific solutions, including specific mechanisms to implement and resolve the economic issues which would be discussed by experts during the activities of the sixth session, in order to achieve the desired economic progress and development.

For his part, Said bin Ibrahim Al-Muajjal, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Riyadh Economic Forum, said SRMG’s sponsorship of the forum was an extension of its continued backing and support for the forum, in addition to its active and influential role in promoting and sponsoring important activities in the country. He added that the forum was working on finding strategic partnerships with pioneering and active national companies, led by the SRMG group. He also added that this participation will allow the forum to achieve its ambitions and aspirations, and chart its future strategy on firm steps which serve “our interest and our national enterprises.”

Muajjal praised the support and sponsorship of the forum by SRMG, which he said holds a distinguished position in both local and pan-Arab media. He added that the forum would highlight the most modern trends in the Kingdom in the fields of business and economy, and discuss a number of issues including the five research studies scheduled for the current session.

The studies focus on the construction sector’s employment policies, the nationalization of private sector jobs, the role of the Kingdom’s small and medium enterprises in the national economy, combating financial and administrative corruption, and water as an economic resource and a fundamental requirement for sustainable development.

Muajjal said the forum would present new ideas and proposals by looking at the experiences of other countries in dealing with the issues and challenges facing the Kingdom.

“The forum comes as an extension of the diligent and responsible steps taken by the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his crown prince, to support and develop the structural reforms witnesses in the national economy and endeavor to strengthen them and promote their various aspects,” he added.
