Riyadh- The control teams at the Ministry of Commerce and Investment (MOCI) conducted inspection tours in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources (MEIM), the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and the Saudi Energy Efficiency Center (SEEC), including thermal insulation plants and production lines in various regions of the Kingdom to ensure compliance with the standard specifications of thermal insulation materials.
The teams carried out the inspection visits to 83 thermal insulation plants and production lines, seized 76,507 products and monitored seven illegal factories and closed six production lines that do not conform to Saudi specifications and standards.
This process comes in the framework of the efforts exerted by several government agencies working as one system within the Saudi Program for Energy Efficiency, which worked on finding a mechanism to ensure the control and compliance with the standards of the initiatives launched by the program in order to rationalize and increase the efficiency of energy consumption.
