Saudi Minister of Housing Confirms Sharqiya Housing Projects Nearing Completion | ASHARQ AL-AWSAT English Archive 2005 -2017

Dammam-Saudi Minister of Housing Majed bin Abdullah al-Hogail confirmed that the ministry’s projects in al-Sharqiya are on schedule. He revealed that a number of housing units will be delivered soon to citizens.

During his tour at the ministry’s projects in Sharqiya, Hogail said that the projects are of high quality and well executed. They include facilities such as schools, health centres, entertainment centres.

He announced that the current projects involve 16,122 units, including villas.

The minister confirmed that the ministry is monitoring the projects in the area of al-Asfar suburb in al-Ahsa that aim at providing 100,000 residential units executed by five Chinese real estate companies, while 10,000 in al-Qatif district which will be executed by two local companies.

Hogail said that the ministry oversaw the projects in the area prior to its delivery to the citizens. He added that 900 units were delivered in Hafir al-Batin and more are expected to be given to citizens within the next two months.

The minister revealed that about 169,455 male and female citizens applied online for the housing support program on the “Eskan” website.

During the tour, head of Sharqiya projects Engineer Abdallah bin Saoud al-Hamad explained to the minister the progress in the construction work. He also praised the results and stressed that more effort should be exerted to execute the remaining projects on time.

The Housing Minister began his tour in the northern housing project in Dammam. He then moved to the southern project which includes 6,144 units and 3,349 land plots.

In Ahsa the minister was briefed on the recent studies for the Asfar suburb that includes 100,000 residential units and 95 land plots.
