Saudi Arabia to Participate in Gulf Family Companies Forum | ASHARQ AL-AWSAT English Archive 2005 -2017

Jeddah, Asharq Al-Awsat- Saudi Arabia will participate in the first forum for the Gulf family companies due to be held next Tuesday in the United Arab Emirates.

The forum will be attended by about 150 economists, experts, businessmen and owners of the family companies in addition to a number of academicians, judges and lawyers,

The participants of the two-day forum will discuss problems that may face about 20,000 family companies in the Arab Gulf states with investments estimated at $500 billion.

The assets and international investments of these companies are estimated at $2 trillion, which constitute 75 percent of the non-governmental Gulf economy.

Head of the consultative committee of the forum Majed Mohammed Karoub said these family companies have been employing more than 15 million employees.

Karoub pointed out that businesswomen from Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states will also participate in the forum with important working papers.
