DUBAI,(Reuters) – Qatar has no need to take policy steps in response to the global financial crisis at the moment, but had “lots of instruments” at its disposal if needed, the Gulf Arab state’s central bank governor said on Wednesday.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Saud al-Thani was speaking on the sidelines of an Islamic finance conference in Dubai.

The central banker also said that Qatari banks are “solid, highly capitalized and liquid.”
