NCB Sponsor Seminar on Saudi Women and the Stock Market | ASHARQ AL-AWSAT English Archive 2005 -2017

Jeddah, Asharq Al-Awsat- The National Commercial Bank (NCB) recently sponsored a cultural seminar, the first of its kind in the kingdom, specialized in raising woman’s awareness in the field of stocks, titled “Saudi Women and Stock Market Symposium”. The seminar was held at the Hilton Hotel in Jeddah. A large number of experts, authorities and businesswomen participated in the seminar. They discussed the reality of the Saudi financial market and its challenges; future developments and how to invest and trade in them.

Mr. Ahmed Farid, NCB Head of Asset Management Sector, stated that the seminar is considered a very important economic event. It aimed to bring awareness and educate female investors on how to deal with the changes in the stock market.

Mr. Farid affirmed that the bank sponsored the event because it acknowledged the importance of its role in spreading investment awareness through such functions. He expressed his hopes that the seminar would provide its participants positive feedback and advice benefiting the market and those dealing in it.

Mr. Hany AlShuwaier, NCB Head Brokerage Division, stated that the bank was committed to bringing awareness and educating its clients on safe and sound ways to invest in the Saudi Stock Market. He indicated that the seminar discussed the state of the stock market in the kingdom, the legal considerations involved in trading in the stock market and the opportunities and risk of dealing in the market.

Mr. AlShuwaer concluded by saying: “Looking into the fluctuations currently happening in the stock market, it is imperative that we educate our clients with the risks and necessary precautions they must take when investing or trading in the Saudi market.”
