Dammam, Asharq Al-Awsat- In affirmation of its effective role towards social service, the National Commercial Bank (NCB) signed a contract with Ladies Business Center at the Chamber of Commerce in the Eastern Province to organize a training course specifically for women who aspire to establish their own home based business. This program is part of a series of NCB programs for small businesses at the social service department at the bank.

Engineer Mahmoud Turkistani, Head of Community Service Unit signed the agreement with Ibrahim Al-Elian, the Secretary General of the Chamber of Commerce in the Eastern Province. In an effort to coordinate and cooperate between the two sides in the area of activities and social programs which serve the community, contribute to economic development, provide employment opportunities and encourage the resources of youth to carry out their small businesses.

Mr. Turkistani indicated that the program aims to qualify participating women and inculcate in them the basic necessary skills to launch their own small home based businesses. Through training, they learn to plan a clear concept for their project and conduct a market survey, as well as have the necessary skills to market their product through sales channels they can learn to use by working from their homes. He stated that the social service department at NCB had a work shop specifically for the program which will be held after a theoretical study is conducted with the objective of the benefit of the woman who participated in the program to develop their skills and abilities in managing their own businesses. He added that the trainees at this work shop conduct a total feasibility study of the market by designing market and analysis statistics to aid them start their private businesses.
