Jeddah, Asharq Al-Awsat- The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce is set to hold another economic forum next month titled ‘The Kingdom as a Member of the World Trade Organization (WTO): Chances and Challenges’.

Abu Bakr Ba’eshen, the head of the forum’s organizing committee, said about 50 experts from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and foreign countries, who are concerned with economic, administrative and legal issues, will deliver working papers at the forum’s five sessions which starts on April 10th next month.

‘They will focus in on the importance of the admission of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the WTO’, he noted.

Ba’eshen noted that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia which has earned a great political and economic weight at the regional international arenas, will start a new stage after its admission to the WTO.

‘The admission of the Kingdom to the WTO will open new horizons’, he said.

The 2-day forum will be attended by more than 400 businessmen and senior officials at the governmental and non-governmental sectors in addition to members of the academic staff of the Saudi universities and representatives of economic institutions.

The participants of the forum will review the possibility of exporting Saudi industrial products to the markets of other WTO’s member states, means for the development of the human resources and other related topics.
