Riyadh 26/5/2005-Mobily has announced the immediate launch of its

services during a ceremony at the Four Seasons Hotel in Riyadh. At the same time, Etisalat International, headed by Obaid Bin Meshar, has announced that they are evaluating Etisalat’s entry into Yemen as the third mobile operator.

In Saudi Arabia, Mobily services, among others, includes post-paid SIM cards. These comprise five minute-based packages that cater to varying customer needs and budgets. The packages offer value-added services such as voicemail, news and data downloads from Mobily portal, SMS, MMS, missed call notification, WAP and Internet browsing.

Pre-paid services are offered through two bouquets: Anees, with a

competitive pricing scheme that varies according to peak times; and Wafeer, with a call rate that decreases as minutes go by. In addition, a pre-identified international number can be added to both bouquets allowing users to enjoy a further 20% discount on top of already competitive rates.

Mobily international calling rates are very competitive compared to those of regional operators. Peak time rates are destination-dependant rather than fixed to the origin country’s peak times.
