DUBAI, United Arab Emirates, (AP) – The Dubai-based Emirates says it recently outlined a range of reliability issues for Airbus’ A380 “superjumbo” but still has confidence in the double-decker plane.
The airline, which is the plane’s biggest customer, is in talks with Airbus about when it will receive new aircraft, saying it recently held a “routine meeting” with the plane maker about future deliveries.
In response to questions, the company said Sunday that it, “like all airlines … continues to assess all options for its fleet and route operations.”
An Emirates spokesperson, who spoke on condition of anonymity in line with company policy, said concerns about the A380 and the delivery review are “not linked.”
Airbus could not be reached for comment.
