RIYADH,(KUNA) — Arab businessmen will meet in September in the United States (U.S) for a joint Arab-U.S economic forum, said an official at the Saudi Council of Commercial and Industrial Chambers (CCIC) on Thursday.

In an interview with Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), the council”s Secretary-General of the Foreign Trade Development Committee Omar Bahlaiwa explained that this forum will be the second meeting for Saudi-U.S businessmen after a 50-member Saudi delegation had visited five states to introduce Saudi projects.

This forum, said Bahlaiwa, is to ensure that &#34we have overcome the aftermath of September 11 event through developing and enhancing the opportunities created by the visit of the Saudi Crown Prince Abdallah bin Abdul-Aziz to the U.S last May, which the businessmen”s tour coincided with.&#34 He added that the forum will be for all Arab nations, with the attendance of Qatar”s Amir Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, U.S Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Secretary-General of the Arab League Amr Moussa, Chairman of Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahd Al-Sabah and Chief-Executive-Officer (CEO) of the National Bank of Kuwait Ibrahim Dabdoub.

He said promoting Saudi Arabian investments in the U.S has been quite successful.

With the value of U.S exports to Saudi Arabia reaching USD 15 billion annually, the U.S is considered to be Saudi Arabia”s biggest economic ally.
