Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan is under political pressure in the follow-up to the mass arrests for alleged bribery involving public tenders. The sons of the interior, economy and environment ministers were among those detained. Another 25 high-ranking police officers have been dismissed in Turkey following a wave of high-profile bribery arrests, bringing the total number officers removed to around 70, Turkish media reported 22 December.
