The evening of Dec.8 started the 7th Riyadh Economic Forum under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques. Dr. Tawfiq al Rabiah, Minister of Commerce and Industry, launched the forum on behalf of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

The Minister opened his speech with “It pleases me to be here with you on behalf of King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in this launch of activities of this 7th Riyadh Economic Forum”. He also affirmed that Saudi Arabia will be taking balanced economic policies that comply with current developments and world economic challenges.

Minister Rabiah said “the economic adjustments continue to aim at reinforcing our national economy’s competence, through diversifying income sources and raising its capability of confronting challenges appropriately with the position Saudi Arabia holds as one of the world’s largest economies” .

He also pointed out his hope that the forum would reach positive and constructive recommendations that will have positive contribution to the country’s direction and actualize economic adjustment. He also hoped for the forum’s recommendations to support National income support sources and providing employment opportunities to the citizens of Saudi Arabia.
