Ankara-Security forces in Turkey stepped up their search efforts after receiving information on 61 cars that are rigged with explosives roaming the country freely.

Turkey’s Diyarbakır, a city nestled on the banks of the Tigris River in southeastern Turkey, had its security board on Thursday report an impending series of terror suicide attacks to be staged by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK). A list with the plate numbers of all suspected vehicles.

The security board demanded that all agents maintain maximum alert for the upcoming days, especially as a nine-day holiday for Eid al-Adha, also called the “Sacrifice Feast,” approaches.

The security taskforces were notified of possible call-ins to carry out precautionary ambush attacks.

Meanwhile, the country launched the largest operation in its history against Kurdish militants and the removal of civil servants linked to them is a key part of the fight, as more than 11,500 teachers were suspended.

Security forces had also arrested on Thursday a female Kurdish recruit, believed to have been plotting a suicide attack, which was to be staged at Istanbul’s Ataturk Airport. Local media reported that the suspect is a PKK recruit and was caught in action.

In line with ongoing investigations against ISIS and other terror organizations, the republic’s prosecution received an official warrant to make seven arrests against people suspected of affiliation with a subdivision belonging to Jabhat Fateh al-Sham, formerly known as Al-Nusra Front.

Moreover, an Istanbul prosecutor issued arrest warrants for 85 people Thursday, including six generals and 43 commissioned officers over suspected links with the Fethullah Terrorist Organization (FETO).

Turkish police are currently conducting an operation across 15 provinces of Turkey to arrest the suspects, the sources added, wrote Anadolu Agency.

The Turkish government has said U.S.-based Fethullah Gulen had orchestrated the July 15 coup attempt, which left 240 people dead and nearly 2,200 injured.

Gulen, who has lived in self-imposed exile in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania since 1997, is also accused of running a long-running campaign to overthrow the state through the infiltration of Turkish institutions, particularly the military, police and judiciary, forming what is commonly known as the parallel state.
