Ankara- Saudi Arabian Airlines, the Kingdom’s flag carrier, has started direct flights to the Turkish capital, Ankara.

There will be four weekly flights to Ankara; (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Friday) from Jeddah and three flights from Madinah (Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday).

Saudia will start flights between Madinah and Ankara on Sunday.

An Airbus A330-300 that took off from Jeddah landed at Ankara’s Esenboğa International Airport Friday afternoon. Captain Sultan Dowaihi, acting chairman and CEO of Saudia, and several senior officials of the airline were on board.

On the occasion, Dowaihi delivered a speech saying that this step falls under the initiatives and strategic plan of the national transformation. He said that the achievement of this strategic goal has a special importance to the Kingdom’s national carrier.

The Saudi Ambassador to Ankara Adel Serajedin Merdad expressed delight and expected this step to strengthen relations with Turkish government and people and to open new dimension on the economic development level as well as trade exchange.
