Ankara- Turkish authorities have conducted a series of arrests against terror suspects attempting to slip through borders. Security forces apprehended three active suicide attack recruits involved with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party or (PKK) and the Democratic Union Party (PYD).

Three trained suicide bombers belonging to the PKK and the PYD terrorist organizations were arrested in Şanlıurfa on Tuesday, along with two other people suspected of sheltering them.

Şanlıurfa’s Provincial Gendarmerie Command squads received a tip regarding 3 PKK/PYD terrorists who crossed illegally into Turkey from Syria plotting terror attacks in the country, according to a written statement released by the Governorship, said a local statement.

According to reports, the terrorists identified as Syrian nationals and had entered Turkey through illegal means through a cross-over controlled by the PKK’s offshoot Syrian, the PYD, and was detained at a house in Şanlıurfa province.

More so, suspected ISIS suicide bombers, who are responsible for transporting ammunition from Syria to Turkey for terrorists, has been detained by Turkish security forces as part of a counter-terror probe.

The terrorist reportedly admitted to transferring weapons and ammunition for ISIS, and police discovered materials used to make suicide vests, including three detonators, three remote control key systems, and 3.5 kilograms of explosives and others.

Turkish authorities also captured a suspected ISIS-affiliated sniper in the Elbeyli district of southeastern Kilis province.

ISIS officially started leading terror acts in Turkey in 2013, since Turkish security officials started organizing operations on sleeper cells within the borders of the country.

Turkish authorities are further taking tight security measures on Turkish borders to stop terrorists from infiltrating the country. The latest ISIS-linked terrorist attack in Turkey took place on the night of New Year’s Eve celebrations when an Uzbek terrorist killed 39 people in one of Istanbul’s nightclubs.
