Ankara-Head of Turkey’s Religious Affairs Directorate Mehmet Görmez hailed great efforts exerted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in serving pilgrims and providing them with many facilities to perform their Hajj rituals in comfort secure conditions.
Görmez addressed Turkish pilgrims, in a speech that was broadcast by Turkish media, and thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for all the efforts his country has put this year to serve pilgrims regardless where they come from.
Görmez, who accompanied Hajj delegation coming from Turkey, lauded Saudi government’s efforts in facilitating the procedures for all who attended this Hajj season.
He said: “Who does not thank people does not thank God. This is why I would like to thank the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, on my behalf and on behalf of pilgrims, for all what he has provided for pilgrims, praying God the Almighty to provide him with permanent health and wellness.”
He also thanked the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and all its employees, security men and all those concerned for serving the pilgrims, saying: “I thank them all for facilitating Hajj for us, especially this year, and I consider thanking them a matter of duty since those who give all their time to serve pilgrims deserve all the appreciation.”
At the end of his speech, he addressed the failed coup witnessed by Turkey in July and said: “Turkey has experienced a failed coup on July 15, and we have went through awful and difficult times; on this occasion, I would like to thank you all, one by one, for supporting our citizens and our country at that period.”
On the other hand, Turkish media and TV channels, regardless of their political stances, have noted the new amendments and expansions in the pathways taken by pilgrims, which facilitated their rituals.
