The Saudi Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz who is also Second Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense inspected Saudi troops in the southern region yesterday and chaired a meeting in which the military situation in the region and recent military operations carried out by units in accordance with the plans prepared were discussed.

Prince Mohammed visited an advanced field hospital for armed forces in Jazan where he met the injured and conveyed to them the greetings and wishes for a speedy recovery from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz and the Crown Prince Muhammad bin Nayef. Prince Mohammed bin Salman also inspected the rapid intervention force in Jazan and was shown sophisticated mechanisms and advanced training. He expressed his pride in the precision with which the armed forces in Jazan carried out operations, the speed with which they responded to emergency situations and their preparedness to fight.

Meanwhile, the national Yemeni army’s forces and the Popular Resistance made progress in the operations that they carried out around the capital Sana’a. The commander of both the 15th Brigade and the north-eastern sector in Aden Brigadier General Abdullah Al-Subaihi told Asharq Al-Awsat that “the national army has made advances in all axes including the axis of Sana’a with the support of Arab coalition forces”.

The Prime Minister and Vice President of Yemen Khaled Mahfoudh Bahah revealed in Dubai yesterday that the decision to liberate the city of Taiz has been taken and that work is currently underway to lift the siege on the city soon.

In a related development, the Popular Resistance carried out more than ten different operations during the last two days in the governorate of Ibb that targeted Houthi militia communities and supplies and that of their ally Ali Saleh also. 45 armed members of the militia were killed in these operations and 30 people were wounded. In addition to this, more than ten military armoured vehicles and mechanisms were destroyed.
