Dammam- The eastern region in Saudi Arabia has witnessed since August the martyrdom of six security guards and the injury of ten.

On 17 August, security guard Abdulsalam al-Azni was shot dead by four masked individuals inside a vehicle infront of Qatif Police Station. Also, a patrol was targeted in Dammam in 18 September, killing another guard.

The two incidents were related to a hold up of a vehicle transporting funds in Qatif in 21 September—three security guards were injured and the armed took over the funds.

On 25 October, two security guards faced were shot dead from unknown source in Dammam, after fulfilling their daily security duties. Also, another security guard was shot dead by an anonymous source in Qatif while he was on a patrol.

On Sunday, the Saudi Ministry of Interior announced a list of wanted individuals in Qatif and Dammam incidents. The list included nine wanted, eight out of them are Saudis and the ninth is Bahraini. The ministry called for cooperating with security bodies, saying that anyone that deals with the wanted may be held accountable.

This is the second list to be published by the ministry—the first one was announced on February 2012 and it included 23 individuals.

Major Mansour Al-Turki, spokesman of the Ministry of Interior, announced that acts of targeting citizens, expats, security men, and sabotaging public utilities, security and economic installations involved eight Saudis: Jafar Bin Hassan Makki Al-Mubeirik, Fadhil Abdullah Muhammad Aal Hamadah, Ali Bilal Saud Aal Hamad, Muhammad Bin Hussain Ali Aal Ammar, Maitham Bin Ali Muhammad Al-Qudaihi, Mufeed Hamza Bin Ali Alwan, Majid Bin Ali Abdul Rahim Al-Faraj, Ayman Ibrahim Hassan Al-Mukhtar, and Hassan Mahmood Ali Abdullah (Bahraini national).

Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry called on those listed to turn themselves in to security authorities, and warned “whoever deals with them that he will make himself accountable.”
