Manama- Bahrain has accused the Qatari leadership of being behind the security unrest that erupted in the Kingdom in 2011.

A report on Bahrain’s state television on Monday said that the first spark of events in Bahrain during that period and calls for chaos were launched from the Qatari capital.

Accusations made by Manama against Doha have previously highlighted the financial and political support provided by Qatar to the outlaws and terrorist groups, but Bahrain said in this new revelation that calls for chaos and for overthrowing the regime emerged from Doha specifically.

Bahraini security services have also underlined the role of Qatari state institutions in fueling the events through intensive engagement into political developments in the country and also through social media networking sites.

The report also highlighted that the Qatari scheme was directly targeting the government in Manama. It noted that the social media was used to instigate sedition and chaos based on a “comprehensive plot that was provided with financial, logistical and media support” to fuel violence and terrorism that took place in Bahrain between 14 February and 16 March.

According to the report, an account with the name of “Saheb Al Ahbar”, created in Qatar in 2010, began calling upon Bahrainis to “rise against their rulers and sacrifice their blood for their freedom”.

The investigations of the Bahrain cyber security authorities have proved that the account was created and activated in Qatar, as the Internet Protocol (IP) address showed.

They also revealed that bodies in the Qatari government have been simultaneously activated to support it, including the Emiri Court, Emiri Guard and Interior Ministry.

The report also noted that the Qatari authorities have used Al Jazeera television station to fulfill their goals in Bahrain. It said that the channel worked to “internationalize the events through its programs which falsified the facts.”
