Manama- Chief Prosecutor at the Terror Crime Prosecution Issa al-Ruwaie said his bureau began investigating the case of a terrorist group that targeted security men and vehicles and attacked public and private properties in various areas of Bahrain.

Weapons and explosive devices found in their possession were confiscated.

The Public Prosecution was informed by the National Security Agency that as part of its investigation and search to identify all terrorists implicated in targeting security forces and private and public properties in various parts of Bahrain, suspects were arrested on January 26.

The investigations led to seven suspects who had joined the terror group. Three of them were arrested as the search continues to arrest the others.

The first suspect confessed to being part of the network and sheltering wanted fugitives.

The second also admitted to joining the cell and assisting in providing first aid to those injured during confrontations with the security forces.

At the request of the Public Prosecution, a probe was conducted by police and led to the identification of the criminals.

Investigations indicated the suspects had set up the group and recruited members who assisted them in their terrorist crimes.

The Public Prosecution questioned the suspects and provided them with all the guarantees under the law and charged them with setting up and joining a terrorist group, possessing and using weapons and explosive devices.

It ordered the suspects be kept in jail for further investigation.
