Manama-King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa highlighted on Thursday that he will not permit any foreign party to exploit the sectarian diversity of Bahrain and fan a division between the Bahraini people.

The king hailed the constitution’s ways of protecting and reinforcing religious freedom and prohibiting any violations of this freedom.

This came during a meeting held with the heads of and members of the legislative authority.

Bahrain’s King also praised the efforts exerted by security forces to maintain the security of citizens and residents during Ashura.

He stressed that what brings the Bahraini people together is far bigger than what divides them.

On Thursday, the King of Bahrain received the annual reports on the work of the Representatives and Shura Councils for the second session of the fourth legislative term.

King Hamad received at Al-Sakhir Palace the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, Chairman of the Shura Council, Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, and a number of the two councils’ members, who submitted to him the annual reports.

He commended the outstanding efforts exerted by the Representatives Council Speaker, Shura Council Chairman and members of the two councils to serve the nation and the citizens, highlighting the importance of the role played by the legislative authority in consolidating the parliamentary march and its fruitful contributions to the comprehensive progress.

He also applauded the national achievements made by the two councils, as well as their effective role in adopting the Bahraini society’s issues, developing laws and legislation, strengthening the pillars of the state of law and institutions and defending national issues and interests at international gatherings.

King Hamad expressed deep pride in the Bahraini citizens’ dedication to the service of the homeland, as well as their competence and constant willingness to protect Bahrain interests, national unity and social fabric.
