Manama – Following its participation in Canton Fair held in China last October, the industrial sector committee of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) headed by the second vice-chairman Abdulhameed Al Kooheji is holding a forum on Wednesday to raise the awareness of local industrialists of investment and partnership opportunities in China.

The forum will exhibit the outcomes of the committee’s participation in Canton Fair, and share investment opportunities suitable for the Bahraini market and industrialists working in small and medium enterprises, according to a statement released by BCCI,.

In this regard, Al Kooheji strongly encouraged industrial SMEs to participate in the investment forum, which is considered as an important chance to identify the possible investment opportunities for the private sector with the Chinese side.

The Open Chinese Investment Forum will be held on Wednesday in Manama in the presence of the Commercial Attaché of the Chinese Embassy.

In November, senior business leaders from Bahrain and China signed a number of agreements on the sidelines of the Bahrain-Shenzhen Business Forum held in Shenzhen.

A high-level business delegation from Bahrain visited China and Hong Kong to further strengthen the economic and business ties between the two countries.

The business forum saw the signing of three Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between Bahrain Economic Development Board (EDB) and Chinese businesses and trade organizations, helping to fortify economic and trade ties between the two nations.

Several leading Chinese companies with offices or facilities already established in Bahrain include: Bank of China, China CommService, China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd, CPIC, ChinaMex, CIMC, Jinluo Water and East Star Group.
