London- Saudi Arabia’s former Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali al-Naimi officially released on Friday his very own autobiography recording a personal journey as an oil minister for one of the world’s largest oil producing countries.

In his recently published autobiography – Out of the Desert: My Journey from Nomadic Bedouin to the Heart of Global Oil –Al-Naimi writes on his 35 years of experience with policy making and global oil trade.

The memoir was published by Penguin Books Limited (UK). More so, the release was attended by Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom Prince Mohammed bin Nawwaf.

The biography documents Mr. al-Naimi’s both his career and early life– reencountering the memories of a twelve-year-old boy wandering around Aramco, an international oil giant, before finally landing the post as the national minister of petroleum and mineral resources.

Set at the heart of Saudi Arabia’s oil and gas policymaking for 21 years, Mr.al-Naimi reveals hidden events that had once affected the very much unpredictable energy market.

The release is not focused solely on oil markets and economy but also tells in detail many of political highlights and wars lived by the former minister, such as Saddam Hussein’s Invasion of Kuwait.

Speaking before a crowd of top politicians, oil experts and reporters, Mr.al-Naimi summed up the secret to his success in moving from a rural desert village onto the international platform for energy with ‘persistent hard work and some luck.’

For Mr. al-Naimi success is bound by ambition—however, in his speech for future generations, he says that ambition alone is not enough and must go together with diligent work and a smile.
