Riyadh- Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh has denounced the Qatari media promotion of calls to internationalize the Two Holy Mosques, describing this request as malicious.

In his statement to Asharq Al-Awsat, he saw that the purpose is to rise tension and undermine unity of Muslims.

He asserted that Muslims witness that Saudi Arabia is deploying all its potentials to serve the Two Holy Mosques, serving millions of pilgrims and overcoming potential obstacles that might face pilgrims as they perform their rituals without discrimination among them.

He added that the kingdom ensures security and stability on the basis of the religion and conventions issued by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

Al Sheikh stated that the scene of Muslims lining up in unity irked the enemies who are targeting their unity as they come from across the world to perform Umrah and Hajj rituals.

The grand mufti described the calls aiming to undermine the kingdom services to the Two Holy Mosques throughout history as malicious and disregarding of the kingdom’s keenness to ensure safety of pilgrims, to permit them to carry out rituals and to overcome potential obstacles.
