Riyadh-King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) on Sunday dispatched a convoy loaded with 17 containers of medical supplies and equipment to Yemen, Royal Court and KSrelief Supervisor Abdullah al-Rabiah said Sunday.

The convoy was sent as an implementation of the directives issued by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz, according to Rabiah.

It consisted of 11 containers, carrying 279 types of medical supplies to the Republican Hospital in Aden and 25 types of medical equipment and supplies for the central medicinal and pharmacology storage units at the Yemeni Ministry of Public Health and Housing in Aden.

It also included six containers that headed to Ma’rib General Hospital Authority containing 235 types of medical supplies.

He said another ground convoy to Taiz will take place soon.

The Center delivers and monitors humanitarian assistance in coordination with local partners and U.N. organizations as well as the legitimate Yemeni government.

Rabiah urged the U.N. to carry out its responsibilities through its organizations that are operating in the Yemen to ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid.

He said the Center monitors its assistance until supplies reach the beneficiaries.

Rabiah called on all international humanitarian organizations to work in partnership and coordinate their aid efforts in Yemen, and for all humanitarian assistance to be closely monitored to ensure that aid reaches people across the country.

Al-Rabiah also called on the United Nations to speed up the implementation of their humanitarian aid efforts.

He said that some U.N. organizations did not implement the old plan relating to the delivery of humanitarian aid.
