Riyadh – The Ministry of Labor and Social Development in Saudi Arabia has revealed that the beginning of February will witness receiving registration applications for the “Citizens Account Program”, noting that allowances will be paid to eligible families before the implementation of any economic reforms, which could otherwise negatively affect living conditions of citizens.
The ministry is looking into applications of individuals with commercial records – it clarified that the main beneficiary category is the Saudi household and individual residing in his own place as well as Saudi women married to foreigners for one condition: to hold the transport card.
The citizens account program was introduced to alleviate economic impact of various reforms on the Saudi household, according to the ministry.
The electronic portal will be the sole platform to register and contact potential beneficiaries. The guardian of a family can create an account on the e-portal, provide the required information about himself and his dependents, together with necessary documents, if any.
There is no deadline for registration, which will start in February, stated the ministry.
The ministry noted that the first payments will be made before the change in prices of water and oil products– unmarried, single, widowed and divorced males and females who reside alone are all considered as independent individuals.
It also specified ways to complain over non-eligibility to the program, adding that the monetary allowance is directly transferred to the account of the eligible beneficiary.
