Arab Ministers of Housing Discuss in Riyadh Latest Real Estate Financing Methods | ASHARQ AL-AWSAT English Archive 2005 -2017

Riyadh – The Council of Arab Ministers of Housing and Reconstruction headed by Minister of Housing Majed bin Abdullah al-Huqail began the activities of their 33rd session in Riyadh on Tuesday.

The session was set to discuss the importance of strengthening partnership and activating cooperation in the housing sector in order to achieve the aspirations of the people in Arab countries and develop and organize this sector.

In his speech at the outset of the meeting, Minister al-Huqail stressed that this session comes as part of a series of the previous sessions designed to deepen the bonds of fruitful and constructive cooperation among Arab countries, which are combined with Islam and “Arabism”.

Al-Huqail noted that suitable housing is a top priority among all peoples.

He said that “In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, this interest has begun since the founding of this great entity by late King Abdulaziz Al Saud as he put the first block for the resettlement of the desert people and provided secured and appropriate housing for them more than 80 years ago until this desert has currently turned into crowded villages and cities.

He further noted that in this “auspicious era of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Ministry started implementing several housing projects and concluding contracts with many local, Arab and international companies to take advantage of their expertise in this area.”

For his part, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Mostafa Madbouly accompanied by a delegation from ministry headed to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to discuss the housing development in Egypt.

The Egyptian delegation presented among all attendees the Ministry’s accomplishments of the housing and development sector of Egypt through a documentary showcasing the progress of social housing projects across the country.

The delegation also suggested further partnerships among Middle Eastern countries to develop urban living.

The council worked on adjusting some of the articles concerning the regulations of cooperating with the Arab League and the United Nations in regards to human programs and development.
