Dubai- Officials meeting in a human rights conference in Bahrain are seeking to come up with a collective pan-Arab national strategy to face Iranian threats and interventions in Arab affairs.

The Arab Federation for Human Rights has organized the conference to discuss Iranian threats to pan-Arab human security, which will be launched in the Bahraini capital, Manama, on August 6, under the auspices of the Council of Representatives Speaker, Ahmed bin Ibrahim al-Mulla.

The forum, which will be held under the theme, “No Rights without Security,” will be attended by more than 200 participants, including Arab MPs, Shura Council Members, representatives of Arab and international watchdogs, representatives from U.N. human rights and development agencies, as well as leading academic figures and researchers in the field of human rights.

Chairman of the Arab Federation for Human Rights Dr. Ahmed al-Hamli warned against the dangers of blatant Iranian interference in the internal affairs of Arab countries, which jeopardizes Arab human security and threatens the stability and sovereignty of Arab countries.

In his talks with Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper, Hamli highlighted Iranian expansionist policies, stressing the attempts of Tehran to spread and impose its hegemony on the Middle East and fuel sectarian conflicts in Iraq, Lebanon, Syria and Yemen, as well as its unwavering efforts to destabilize Arab countries and subverting their security, preying particularly on GCC member states and Egypt.

Hamli exposed Iran’s policy of harboring terrorist and extremist organizations, which threatens Arab national and human security. “The Iranian regime succeeded in exploiting the instability which reigned in the region over the past years to expand in the Arab world,” he said.

Organizers said that the forum aspires to cement the Arab identity on the basis of common cultural and intellectual bases that stem from deep-rooted Arab history and millennia-old civilization.

A team of experts will also be set up to follow up the implementation of the proposed strategy, which will hopefully lay the foundations for an Arab action to confront the Iranian interventions.

A partnership will be built with all Arab parties, including governmental authorities, NGOs, political parties and intellectual entities.

The symposium will also contribute to ending sectarian-tainted conflicts by disseminating tolerance, national reconciliation and acceptance of others in the Arab World.
