Dubai- Despite the calmness in Dubai real-estate market, the real-estate companies in UAE and the region rushed during the past days to announce real-estate projects in order to benefit from the opportunities that Cityscape Global provide. Among companies that announced projects were Nakheel Properties, Damac Properties, Dubai South and Emaar.

Cityscape Global, now in its 15th year, kicked off in Dubai on Tuesday. It runs till September 8 at the Dubai World Trade Centre and brings together around 272 exhibitors from 30 countries.

Chairman of Emaar Mohammad Alabbar, said “Emaar is willing to develop Emaar South project on a space of 7, 000 square meter housing a golf course. The project is few minutes away from the Al Maktoum International Airport and the Expo 2020 Dubai site”.

Alabbar told Asharq Al-Awsat that Emaar South project was designed in an accurate way to represent a modern destination inside the city and to become an economic platform that is mainly related to logistic services and aviation field.

Chairman of Emaar added that the time needed to complete the project depends on the market and the completion of basic services in the project. He also considered the current condition in Dubai market to be a good one and this is reflected through the figures provided by the company.

Tom Rhodes, exhibition director for Cityscape Global, said that the 15th edition of Cityscape Global will include interesting projects that will grant UAE a new image. During the past years Cityscape Global witnessed the development in the real-estate sector, he added.

Nakheel Properties has also announced launching a real-estate project that includes two towers in Palm Islands plus housing units and hotel rooms of various spaces. The company said that the project will be presented in the Cityscape Global.

Dubai-based luxury developer Damac Properties announced that it had launched 10 major projects so far in 2016 with a combined value in excess of $3.5 billion (AED13 billion).
