Iraqi Protestors in demonstrations against corruption at the Liberation Square, Baghdad, A.F.P

Baghdad- The Iraqi crisis has begun burning out of proportion, after protests staged by several ministers for toppling Parliamentary Spokesman Salim al-Jabouri, which simultaneously pushed Washington towards threatening to use force for the protection of its interests, especially the three premierships in Iraq.

According to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper sources, Joseph Votel, commander of United States Central Command has delivered a high-caliber message to political leaderships in Iraq, among who are the three premierships.

Sources confirm that the U.S. stance was made clear since U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry’s last visit during which he carried on confirming the constants of the U.S. policy and strategy, and it was later confirmed by Special Presidential Envoy for the Global Coalition to Counter ISIS Brett H. McGurk when he visited to meet Iraqi leaders, especially Iraqi President Fuad Masum and Osama al-Nujaifi.

Afterwards the withdrawal of the organization led by Hadi al-Amri from among the parliamentary protests caused to tip over constitutional quorum which would translate in obstructing the official session for electing a new parliamentary spokesman other than al-Jabouri.

Iraqi politician Azzat al-Shabndar, in a phone call interview with Asharq AL-Awsat newspaper, said that Iran is spending great efforts to pressure the Sadrist movement leader Muqtada al-Sadr to carry out Iranian agenda and desires; however, al-Sadr has refused to answer to all those pressures.

Al-Shabndar, commented that Tehran can go seek help from the terrorist Lebanon-based Hezbollah Secretary General Hassan Nasrallah, as to intervene and mediate for Iran with the Sadrist movement for the preservation of what they call the “unity of the Shi’ite house”, yet al-Sadr insisted on his taken stance against Iranian interference in Iraqi affairs.
