Cairo- An Egyptian criminal court, north Cairo, has taken the name of former presidential candidate Ahmed Shafiq, off airport watch lists.

Shafiq currently lives in Dubai, following the victory of his competitor Mohamed Morsi in the presidential elections held in June 2012.

The defense submitted a motion to the court to issue a sentence ti take the name of Shafiq off the airport watch lists. It added that Shafiq was acquitted from all the accusations except for one case that is still under investigation at the public prosecution.

On the security level, the Egyptian Army announced that it killed 24 Takfiri individuals and seized villages in Arish, Rafah and Sheikh Zuweid.

The Egyptian Army added, “The forces in cooperation with security bodies succeeded in destroying an extremely dangerous terrorist zone in Arish Strip. This led to the death of five during the raid.”
