Amman- Jordan police arrested a public school teacher on Thursday under suspicions of preaching Shi’ism and calling on the indoctrination of pupils. The educator was cited using profanity to demote Prophet Mohammed’s wife, sources said.

Jordan remains a Sunni Muslim majority country.

Public prosecution in Zarqa city, Jordan has put Murad al-Khalaileh, who teaches at Khaled Abul Huda secondary school, in detention, a source who requested anonymity said.

The culprit is accused of prompting a wave of Shi’ite indoctrination, which led to the surge of public anger.

Khalaileh had disrespected the Mother of the Believers Aisha bint Abi Bakr, a great Islamic figure and wife to Islam’s prophet Muhammad—breaching the public sanctity of the Sunni sect and causing unrest and controversy.

Students and the school’s administrative staff will be taken in for testimony and investigations. Zarqa’s educational board initially ordered an investigation after a reported physical assault against the educator. It was later found that students were left enraged by the educator who had denounced religious values and was forcefully inviting them to join the Shi’ite sect, the source added.

The educational board will be waiting for the results of investigations before taking proper measures against Khalaileh should he be proven guilty.

The attempt on indoctrination of Jordan youth is not unique to Khalaileh, as protests at country’s southern province, Al-Karak were a take to street against Iran’s try at proliferating Shi’ism into Jordan.

More so, activity of projects on building Shi’ite-inspired shrines in Jordan was detected.

Many Arab countries accuse Iran of putting Arab societies under demographic or sectarian change—the cleric-led empire has been spreading Shi’ite indoctrination across the region as of the ‘Khomeini Revolution’ in 1979.

The revolution had gone by the saying ‘pass on revolution’ into the region via religious indoctrination.
