Oman- Jordanian King Abdullah II approved, Sunday, a reshuffle of Prime Minister Hani Mulki cabinet, according to the Jordanian Royal Palace.

Eight ministers were excluded from the cabinet: Salameh Hammad, Rami Wreikat, Fawaz Irshaidat, Yusuf Mansur, Bishr al-Khasawneh, Nasser Judeh, Jawad Anani and Mohammad Thneibat.

Dr. Mamdouh Al-Abadi will be in charge of the portfolio of cabinet affairs, Ghaleb al-Zu’bi will handle the ministry of interior, Ayman al-Safadi will be responsible of the ministry of foreign affairs, Bishr al-Khasawneh will be in charge of the ministry of state for legal affairs, Omar al-Razzaz will handle the department of education and Haditha al-Khraisha will be the minister of youth; according to the decree.

Prime Minister Hani Mulki asked, Saturday evening, his cabinet team to submit their resignation during the cabinet session in order to carry out the amendments — Mulki lined up the government on 29 May 2016, which included 28 members.

The government supervised the Jordanian parliamentary elections on the 20th of September 2016. Mulki submitted 19 work-plans related to administrative, economic and political topics that were mentioned in the letter of assignment.

Following the parliamentary elections, Jordanian King Abdullah II issued orders on 28 September for Mulki to line up the second government.

It will not be the first time for Ghaleb al-Zu’bi to handle the ministry of interior since he was in charge of this portfolio five years ago. Ayman al-Safadi, who is now the minister of foreign affairs, comes from the journalism world as he occupied editing and writing positions in Jordan Times, emirate newspaper Al Ittihad and the Jordanian newspaper Al Ghad.
