Cologne, Germany- German retired doctor Siegfried Ernst Miederer speaks of a small museum that shows small strange items he has removed from his patients’ bodies over 40 years of work. Miederer says that each item he removed has a special story to tell.

The set collected by the German doctor comprises many plastic and metal spoons, knives from different types and sizes, coins, in addition to old shaving blades, screws, long nails, keys, pens, pins, and large glass pieces…

The big number of plastic spoons in the doctor’s set belongs to one patient who was in jail and used to swallow these spoons so they take him out of the prison to remove them. Mederer asserts that surgeons made 20 operations to remove spoons from the man’s throat.

The collection is exhibited at a museum in Bonn city. The manager of the Museum says that visitors stand for a long time gazing at Miederer’s set and ask how people can swallow such big and sharp things.

The set also comprises a battery that was swallowed by a small student during a competition of small cars with one of his peers; the student stole the battery from the car of his competitor and put it in his mouth to maximize his winning chances, then he swallowed it after a winning tap he received on his back.
