Kuwait-Kuwaiti security authorities have imposed strict security procedures especially in the mosques, the oil field and the international airport, following the discovery of three ISIS cells who were plotting terror attacks in the country.
Five Kuwaiti nationals were arrested, including a policeman and a woman, who all confessed to plotting attacks against a Shiite mosque and an interior ministry target, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement issued on Monday.
The international terrorism besieging the region seems to target Kuwait and security experts are analyzing information that warns of a dangerous escalation of terrorist operations in the Gulf, specifically at Eid Al Fitr.
Kuwait Prince and Crown Prince provided instant support to the security bodies that succeeded in revealing the criminal plots. Moreover, the government, following the cabinet meeting, called for joining efforts with the security bodies to not grant Kuwait enemies any chance to achieve their evil targets.
Kuwait National Petroleum Company announced that the company will reinforce the security procedures in the oil facilities in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior Affairs.
KNPC Official Spokesman Khaled Al-Asousi said, “Security plans will be activated to protect the oil facilities and locations in cooperation with the ministry”.
Kuwaiti analyst Dr.Ayed Almannaa told Asharq Al-Awsat that ISIS is expected to carry out suicidal and explosive operations anywhere as it is collapsing in Syria and Iraq.
