Kerry: Nuclear Agreement does not Eliminate All Concerns about Iran

US Secretary of State John Kerry acknowledged that the deal does not eliminate all concerns about Iran, stating that the US “will remain vigilant in verifying Iran’s compliance.”

John Kerry said during the World Economic Forum in Davos-Switzerland, that even if USA is witnessing a change in the Iranian behavior after the deal, still Washington will not stop its concerns toward the Iranian policies in the Middle East region.

He added: “Sanctions are still imposed on Iran from the arms embargo and human rights, and for this reason I will head to Saudi Arabia in the coming days to inform our ally with the following steps about what will happen with Iran this year.”

In a press conference attended by Asharq Al-Awsat, Kerry warned Iran saying: “Now, if we catch them funding terrorism, they’re going to have a problem with the United States Congress and with other people, obviously.”

Kerry confirmed that diplomatic tensions between Iran and Saudi Arabia did not hinder peace talks on Syrian crisis, which is scheduled to be held next week.

He said: “I am hoping that there wouldn’t be any conflict between Iran and Saudi Arabia and tensions between them will not affect the development of the peace talks.”

John Kerry stressed that all parties concerned with Syrian peace talks want Syria to be unified and the only thing they disagree about is how they are willing to achieve it; he added that this will not be easy as all the parties must be willing to talk and find a solution for this crisis.

US Secretary of State announced that he will meet next month with a number of foreign ministers concerned with Syrian crisis, in Rome, to discuss the efforts exerted to fight ISIS.
