Cairo – Tripoli Operations room of the Libyan Army leadership has threatened that it would down any airplane that comes close to the Akaba bin Nafe Airbase.

This comes amid fears of a possible war between the Libyan National Army led by Khalifa Hafter and the pro-Sarraj forces.

The operations rooms threatened in its statement that it will respond to any aggression of provocative act in the region. It added that it had detected earlier a Mig 23 aircraft over al-Watiya atmosphere which is considered an escalation that could bring the whole process back to square one.

Media center of “Solid Structure” had announced that pro-Sarraj forces had begun surveying the area from the center all the way to the south of Libya and from the west till the Libya-Tunisian borders.

The center published a brief statement on its official page on Facebook, saying that the crisis aerial room used reconnaissance to detect and prevent any ISIS members from entering Sirte.

The media center distributed images that reveal its control over large areas and government centers in Sirte. It added that the forces are advancing to take control over the former internal security building, which was used as an ISIS prison.

The forces gained control over clinics compound in Sirte known as al-Hesbeh as well as liberating al-Rabbat mosque which was used by ISIS members as their headquarters.

Meanwhile, MP Ali al-Qatrani, who is a member of the Presidential Council, denied the news circulating about a meeting in Tunisia between the head of the Libyan unity government, Fayez Sarraj, and any member of the council.

Earlier, the Presidential Council had given Qatrani a deadline, which ended last week, to attend the council’s meeting. The body warned the deputy of a possible replacement by another candidate.
