The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz overlooks Hajj pilgrims in Makkah, SPA

Makkah- The whole Islamic World celebrated on Friday Eid al-Adha. Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdulaziz, Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman Al Saud along with national leaders and Islamic clerics received Eid greetings.

The precise date of Eid varies from year to year because its calculation comes from the Islamic calendar, which is lunar. It falls on the 10th day of the Islamic month of Dhu al-Hijjah, which, in most Muslim countries, falls on 1 September in 2017 and lasts for four days. Pakistan marks Eid on September 2.

Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman had arrived Thursday night, the eve of Eid Al-Adha, to directly oversee providing the pilgrims with the best services and facilities, ensure their comfort and see to that they are performing their Hajj rituals with ease and safety, the Saudi state-owned news agency SPA reported.

On arrival at Mina Palace, the King and the accompanying delegation were received by Prince Miteb Bin Abdullah, minister of the National Guard, Prince Muhammad Bin Abdulrahman Bin Abdullah, deputy governor of Riyadh Province, Prince Abdulaziz Bin Saud Bin Naif, minister of interior and chairman of the Supreme Hajj Committee, several princes and senior civil and military officials.

Earlier, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has borne the expenses of sacrificial animal (Hady) for all 5,000 pilgrims hosted within the King’s Guests Program for Hajj and Umrah this year.

Secretary General of the Program Abdullah Al-Madalj was quoted by SPA as saying that the King’s offer covers all the pilgrims hosted under this program and they include the family members of Palestinian martyrs, as well as that of martyred Egyptian soldiers and policemen along with the relatives of Sudanese soldiers who were martyred or injured while taking part in the Decisive Storm and Restoration of Hope military operations to restore legitimacy in Yemen, in addition to other guests from more than 80 countries.

Madalj said that there has been a huge increase in the number of pilgrims who perform Hajj under the King’s Guests Program this year, reaching 5,000 against 2,400 last year.
